The calm after the storm
I used to LOVE thunderstorms. Absolutely loved them. After Tuesday’s incident, I’m now somewhat terrified. Especially because there was more tornado warnings for our area this evening. The storm clouds rolled in and I started pacing. “It’s looking awfully dark over there.” “That’s a lot of lightning. ” “Check the radar again.”
I prayed and paced…and finally it was over. No tornadoes tonight : ) But there was a beautiful sky. The biggest rainbow ever…so big I couldn’t get it in one shot right out our back window. I ran out into my back yard and this is what was waiting for me… 
…and as the sky changed from the storm, there were the most amazing cotton ball clouds.
I thank the Lord for beauty after the storm.

I LOVE pictures like that!! Probably the reason I love storms — the beauty and the calm afterwards. The rainbow over the field is precisely the reason I believe a little part of me would die if we couldn’t live in the country anymore. You’ve captured it wonderfully.

Those are amazing pictures–some of the clouds don’t even look real, they look like paintings! Unfortunately I missed that part of yesterday. I was a little worried too, seeing the sky darkening, hearing the tornado warnings (especially after reading yours and Andrea’s stories from the other night), but after the sky started clearing a bit, I quit looking outside. Gotta remember next time to look after the storm as well!

You took some of the most amazing photos. That rainbow is gorgeous, is it not? The clouds do look like cotton puffs. Our creator is clever.

Oh my gosh, how GORGOUS and absolutely breathtakingly unreal! What amazing pictures, Erin! I have never seen anything like that before. Wow!
