My list just keeps growing and I’m not crossing any of them off. Fold laundry, figure out what to take on our trip, figure out what the girls need to have for 11 days away from home, tackle growing pile of dishes, get maps, finish booking hotels, do some shopping, etc., etc. We’re are 4 sleeps away from leaving and I’m nowhere near ready. But that’s okay, because I still have 4 days. A lot can happen in 4 days.

Instead of all that, I sit here perusing Google Maps, trying to figure out where we are going and where we are staying. I think on our way home we may take a different route and stay in Chicago for 2 nights, spending a full day there sightseeing. I mean how many times are we going to have this opportunity? Let’s make the most of our trip and have some fun too! We are going to be 2 hours from Hershey, PA and you know what Hershey means…CHOCOLATE!!! Can I really be that close and not go there? I wish we had time, but then I have to miss some of the bands at the festival and I don’t know if I can do that. Sigh. So many decisions. Not to mention we will probably drive through all kinds of interesting places on the way there and back and not be able to stop for lack of time. I’m thinking we may have a lot of really early morning starts just so that if I feel the need to explore something we can. I’ll probably need a vacation after this trip!

And then of course there’s the overwhelming joy of getting to see Val again! It’s been 8 months since our visit. For those of you who are new to my blog in the last few months, Val and I met through our blogs during last year’s Ultimate Blog Party and we hit it off. I got the chance to go and meet her in October of last year and it was fabulous. Who knew I would find a BFF through my blog? I hate that we live so far apart. Seeing as how busy we both are, it appeared that we wouldn’t get another chance to see each other until next year, but trust me to find a way. When we decided to go on this road trip and I saw that I could make it work to drive through her town and visit for 2 days, I jumped at the opportunity!! I’m so pumped. Only 5 more sleeps till I get to hug my Val! YEEEEEEEE!!!!! I’m packing as many boxes and bags of ketchup chips into my car as I can possibly manage without it looking like I’ve got some sort of ketchup chip contraband operation going on…I can only imagine what the U.S./Canada border people are going to think about that, lol : )

I still can’t decide what I’m more excited for, seeing all the awesome bands that I’ve yearned to see for so long, or getting to see Val again. Jer jokingly asked me if he was going to be able to pry me away to actually go to the festival. I guess we’ll see.

Okay, back to the laundry. It’s a massive pile, people. Gargantuan! And course it’s the nicest day we’ve had yet. Perhaps I’ll go fold it on my deck.

You’ll get it done. Somehow when there’s a deadline things magically get done :)
I really think you should bring Val a can of Tim Horton’s coffee in addition to the ketchup chips.
If you have time for coffee before you leave, come on over! If not, we’ll do it when you get back, by which time I’ll be frantically packing… :)

I’ve stopped folding laundry. It’s made life so much easier. I put it right side out, lay it in stacks according to shirts, pants, etc…and lay the stacks neatly in our drawers.

Saves me hours every week – lurve it!

So excited for you and your fab trip! Just getting to see the changing landscape out the car window will be the neatest experience I bet!

I love road trips. It’s so great you and Val have become such good friends. I think it’s the best part of blogging – the friendships made.
We don’t have ketchup flavoured chippies here and I love ketchup! Must try those one day.

I just met up with my BFF, who also happens to be a Val, and it was great. You are going to have an amazing time! All the more so because you’ve stocked up on ketchup chips. Mmmmm. Can’t wait to eat them in August when I go back home.
