T Minus 8 Hours
Well it’s 8 hours till we leave (and I’m not in bed yet). Car is almost all packed. Suitcase actually got packed. Dishes are done. Garbage is out. All I have to do is shave my legs and sleep. I think we FINALLY figured out how we’re going to come home. We decided to go through the Great Lake region. See Niagra Falls. Drive across the Mackinac Bridge. See all the beautiful scenery on the South side of Lake Superior and then back up to Canada. We’ll be crossing the Canada/U.S. border 4 times I think. Crazy. Apparently it’s very scenic and lovely and there will be lots of photo ops I’m sure. It’s a bit of a longer drive, but well worth. I think we’re going to do no other planning than that, turn on the GPS and drive till we feel like stopping over somewhere. It’s going to be an adventure I’m sure. We have a tent if we can’t find any hotels with openings, but I SINCERELY hope that won’t be the case. I’m sure I’ll be done camping after the four days of the festival. Luckily we are not doing any camp cooking. There is a food court and grocery store at the festival. Yay! Okay, off to bed. I’ll be blogging en route. Our hotels (and Val’s) have internet access.

And you may already know this, but the Canadian Border Guards are taking job action by being realllly nitpicky and whatnot. Asking every question in the book, searching cars, making you pay duty even for small amounts, that sort of thing. Really lengthening the border line ups and making it a huge hassle. Don’t know if it’ll affect where you’re crossing, but thought I’d mention it just in case!

Hey, have a great trip!! Enjoy the reconnect time with Jer. Sounds like a good idea coming home through Niagra Falls. It is beautiful there. Well, have fun and I’m looking forward to reading the updates along the way!
